The Throat Chakra is a transmitter of truth, freedom, and clarity. It is located in the throat and neck region of the body and extends upward to include the lower region of the brain or cortex. This area of the physical body holds the communication center, and the gateway to inner and outer worlds. What does your Throat Chakra need so you can fully express who you are?”
If you read my earlier blog about my ordeal with larynx cancer and how I coped through the treatments, you may be a bit familiar with my background.
Going back again, I truly believe that my inability to communicate brought on this horrible consequence, which I learned from immensely. My problem was in keeping issues inside and not expressing my feelings in a healthy way. By that I mean I would not verbally say what was going on inside me. I held everything in. Are you like this? You bury things and forget about them and wonder why you get physically ill? Don’t wait until it manifests into something serious. My background is in counselling of all things. Should I not know this? Apparently, I didn’t. However, I did learn some very positive things about my ordeal. Not to take life for granted. To savor every single precious day and be grateful. To listen to others and to be there..fully there…fully present. This takes work. Lot’s of work. And, especially tell the ones you love that you love them. I know..even if they are words and you say you show it…”say it”.
I don’t even smoke and only have an occasional glass of wine with company. Then, 2 of my brothers passed into the other world within the same year. One battling larynx cancer for a number of years. For me it has been over 8 years now and I have passed the finish line with a loud cheer coming from my throat. I can’t sing anymore, but that is okay. I wasn’t much of a singer anyway. But, I can educate and fund raise for cancer patients who need assistance with counselling or protein shakes or wigs or a ride to an appointment or just to sit and stare out the window together.
So, next time you feel sad or happy. Don’t keep the knot in your throat. Shout, Cry loudly. Just make some noise. It’s all good:)
Sorry to hear about your ordeal with cancer. This article really caught my attention because I have problems with my throat chakra! I better get it fixed…
Thank you for your feedback. If it weren’t for the cancer, I would not have learned as much as I did. Sometimes it takes a crisis like this to get me back on the path again:)
